Enter generic comment about the cold weather here...
Geeeez it's freezing!
Since when does Cronulla get this cold?
No, really? Since when?
I'm sitting in the warmest part of the house, drinking green tea in an effort to warm up from the inside out, the heater is at my feet and I'm bundled up like an Inuit gone fishing and I cant STILL see my breath when I exhale!!
I love winter and all but this is getting ridiculous.
How am I supposed to write a good chunk of my thesis today when I can't even feel my fingers?
Bah.

Yearning.
I'm so tired. My eyelids feel like sandpaper and my body is slowly shutting down.
No more late nights out. I'm getting too old for this stuff.

Yes!
I totally just conquered Final Cut Pro on my first attempt.
Score.
(By 'conquered' I mean I managed to do what I set out to do)
Go me =]

Sometimes, when people decide to leave you for good, you have to let them. No matter how much you don’t want them to. There are some things that are far beyond our control. Even if you have the strength to fight for them, you have to accept the cold harsh truth. The people that you can’t live without, can live without you.
Choose cocaine and having the time of your life.
Choose god. Choose a family.
Choose both.
Choose a lover and sleeping in the same bed every night.
Choose to take the late train home.
Choose to learn about the weather.
Choose to drown in the ocean.
Choose to be a lawyer and make a lot of fucking money.
Choose living day to day on luck.
Choose sex. Choose drugs.
Choose fucking up every chance you get in the pursuit of finding something pure.
We will all forgive you.

Here it is again...
I'm so freaking glad I didn't get Julie Rrap as my supervisor this year.
She's schooling the kid next to me about how boring his photos are, and how she wants him to have at least 30 shots for her to look at next week. Hahahaha. That has to suck.
If I did get her I probably would have just asked about Mike Parr the whole time, ha.

And so I go on.

A few photos from New York.
The two dudes are Rusty and Toby from H20. I kind of adore them.
I turn 23 tomorrow and it's kind of a big deal. I don't know why I'm dreading it so much. I guess it feels old compared to 22, heh.
In celebration of this I want to get my text tattoo. Finally. I've ummed and aahed about it for so long now, and it seems more special now than ever before. Especially because already this year seems like the best one yet.
Maybe it can be my birthday present to myself?

Being patient, with fate and all, is getting old.
I'm back. Blah blah blah.
I returned from the snow in New York yesterday to a tsunami warning and endless rain. Hello, Autumn.
I would much rather be in New York right now. Sydney has lost any respect I had for it before I left. It's so boring and lame. All my favourite things are on the other side of the world. Except Guy. He's still here =]
My body is completely out of wach from the travel, jet lag and the odd hours I was keeping in NY. So I'm not the chirpiest person right now, but I am in a suprisingly good mood aside from the weariness. And I seem to be extremely ready to grab this year by the horns and get it done.
We had our Honours info session today. After much confusion it turns out I have Anne Ferran as my supervisor, which is awesome. I just want to do something stellar.
On a completely seperate note, I'm sick and tired of bending over backwards for some of my friends and then they wont budge to help me out. It's not even to help me out, it's to celebrate my birthday. Argh. Whatever.
I have two days off this week before my first 'real' day at uni. I plan on sleeping, but I should probably clean my study. I think I'll be needing it a bit this year, heh. I got home from the airport to find see that Mum had completely cleaned my room while I was away. It is spotless. I should go away more often!
I have so many photos to upload, but they can wait. I have zero energy. Listening to the new music from Meghan is a much better idea =]

Neeeew York!
I'll be arriving in NY in less than a month!
17th Feb!
How exciting =]
I can't wait. I'm a bit of a nervous wreck, ha.
I especially can't wait to see Meghan, and just hang out.
I'm probably most excited though about seeing H2(freaking)O!
The first punk/hardcore band I went nuts over when I was 14, and still
love more than anything (except maybe Madball) today. And I get to see them
for the very frist time at their 15yr anniversary show in New York.
Oh gosh. It's going to be amazing.
In other news, I'm in a bad mood and really need to go to bed.
Oh, and I'm backpacking around Europe next year. God help me.

Awesome
Guy has abandoned me to backpack through Asia...how rude!
I miss him =[
I'm taking Mum to the tennis tomorrow. Ah, life is tough.
The past week has been spent working and hanging out on the beach. I'm sure you all pity me.
I'm ridiculously excited about the tennis. I'm a tennis nerd. We get to see Andy Roddick and Serena Williams and I can't wait.
Bring on a day of tennis in the sun.
Aaah.
I went for my first drive in my new car today. It's such an old persons car...it has a mat on the dashboard. Hahahaha. That was the first thing to be torn out, ha.
Anywho. I need to tan. From a can.
Such trivial pursuits =]

Baby, it's bad out there...
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, so on and so forth...
Christmas was good. There was minimal family drama, which was nice. Dad forgot the shops were closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so he had no food....well done, Dad.
New Years was fun. I went to Field Day and it was AMAZING!
So so so much fun. Except for one of my boys getting arrested. That wasn't so great...idiots.
What else? Oh, my sister is pregnant. That's pretty exciting.
That's about it.
Oh, and I have my ticket to NEW YORK! Yay!!
I arrive on the 17th Feb. It needs to get here quickly, please. I get back to Sydney on the 28th Feb and start my Honours year at Uni the very next day. What an intelligent cookie I am, ha. I'm going to hate life when I get back, I can tell. I'm most excited about seeing Meghan, and I have a huge list of things to do because last year we weret oo busy doing Exquisite Corpse stuff. Yawn. Ha ha.
I know Meghan will abandon me for most of these things because she hates tourist things, but that's fine by me. I will be the traditional tourist, and shop my money away =]
Things to do before leaving New York:
- Make my own Muppet at FAO Schwarz (!!)
- Buy my brother a Vandelay Industries t-shirt from the NBC store
- Buy the books I need for Honours at Strand Books
- Buy a fisheye lens at B&H Photo
- Visit the Tim Burton exhibition at the MoMA
- Pack on a few pounds at Dylan's Candy Bar (hellooooo choc covered gummy bears)
- Make myself at home in Sephora =]
So, you know...just a few things I want to do.
We're seeing New Found Glory the night after I arrive, too. You have no idea how exciting this is for me. The last time I saw them at their own show was 2003. I was 16! How time flies.
It has been brought to my attention that I am going to freeze over there in February. The Christmas we spent there in 2000 was cold, obviously, but it wasn't unbearable or anything. I have a feeling this time might be different. Argh. Bring it on...I just want to be there!
Aaaand, I'm done.
